I started my journalism career as a sub, on Home & Freezer Digest (now closed). Since then, I’ve worked on many, many titles, as permanent staff and freelance, across titles including Which?, Southwark Council’s website, BBC Good Food, The Lady, Homes & Gardens, and Mortgage Strategy, and a year working as chief sub at Hello! magazine in Madrid.

I’ve recently subbed Veg&Table, the Riverford Organics magazine. From 2019 to 2023 I subbed the Culture Whisper website (and wrote for it). From 2021 to 2023 I provided proofreading services for learning delivery platform Aptem, from customer newsletters to white papers to its entire new website. I’ve also proofread for Plan International, and Know Your Style, a book on fashion by Alyson Walsh.

Since 2016, I’ve done regular subbing shifts on The Week website.
